The League has a needs-based application process to help assure that the funding goes where the needs are the greatest. Formed in 2011, the League offers support of up to $500 per patient and anticipates being able to offer larger grants if needed as its membership grows and additional funding becomes available.
Distribution of grants to patients is provided following a careful review of applicants who are referred by their physicians. The League’s patient services staff work with social workers at the Willis Knighton Cancer Center to assure that the individual needs of patients are met in the most efficient and supportive manner.
The Cancer Foundation League means so much to me…. It is an honor to have started such a worthy, much needed organization with a wonderful group of people (members of the CBCFL) knowing we will touch the lives of hundreds throughout the Northwest Louisiana region.
